Feedall ships 20,000th order

The News-Herald: “Feedall Automation in Willoughby strives for smart, steady growth”

Feedall Automation is a family run manufacturing company headquartered in Willoughby, Ohio, announced today that it has shipped its 20,000th order since being founded in 1946.   “It’s an exciting time to be a manufacturer in the US and to be involved with Feedall Automation”, says CEO Jon Cocco.

While many companies are looking to outsource or offshore manufacturing, Jon believes that delivering the highest quality and best customer service starts with being able to control all aspects of the business including manufacturing.  Feedall Automation handles all of the engineering and manufacturing inhouse at its 20,000 square foot facility.  “We employ the best skill trades in the country that are able to machine, fabricate and assemble some of the most premium automation machines for the world’s best companies”, stated Jon Cocco.  Feedall continues to grow this year increasing its labor force by 20%.

New Ownership with New Vision

It’s an exciting time to be a manufacturer in the US and to be involved with Feedall Automation.   Late last year, I had the opportunity to purchase Feedall Automation from the previous owner, Roger Winslow, Jr.  This business has been in his family since it was founded in 1946.  I am excited to carry forward the legacy of delivering the highest quality automation and feeding equipment to its customers.  Over the past 6 months, I have visited over 50 customers and spent time understanding what makes this business and our people unique.  Over the next 6 months you will begin to see some of the work that has been put in place to create a very customer focused organization centered on delivering (5) main tenants:

  • Engineered solutions
  • Increased uptime at your facilities
  • High quality equipment
  • Lowest cost of ownership
  • Life-time support & spare parts

What we deliver to our customers

I purchased this business because I believe in the people and admire the product line.  I have lead global organizations for the past 15 years and have learned that the key to success is being able to effectively serve our customers every day.  My experience leading multinational industrial manufacturing companies has taught me you have to continue to invest for the future.  Since coming on board, here are some of the investments we have made in order to improve our offering to you:

  • Purchased a new scheduling system which provides real time updates on completion dates for all of our equipment and parts orders. We are now able to provide a web link to each customer so they can check on the current states of the order and its planned delivery.
  • Implemented a new manufacturing system. We have totally reorganized the 18,000 sq. ft. of production at Feedall.  By doing this, we have gained more than 30%  floor space which will allow us to grow, add more stock parts and be more productive.
  • Reinvigorated the innovation process at Feedall. We are committed to introducing new products each year.  We just completed filing a provisional patent on a bin picking solution and are in the process of launching a heavy-duty conveyor system for the forging industry.
  • Positioned our business for growth. In order to keep up with the demands of our customers, we have hired (3) additional master craftsmen in our operations and a new engineer to help with reducing our lead-times and improving our customer support.

In addition to these investments, you will also start to see more communication from Feedall through a monthly newsletter highlighting relevant content on what’s new in the industry and with our business.  You will also receive customer feedback surveys on each equipment order we deliver to you.  This feedback is critical as we continue to find ways to improve our service and product offering to you.  I look forward to working with each of you and finding ways we can partner to delivery unique engineering solutions to your business.  I also welcome each of you to stop by our facility to see the changes we are implementing in order to better accommodate your future needs.

It’s an exciting time to be a part of Feedall Automation and I am looking forward to getting to know you and your business.  Thanks for your business and I look forward to connecting with you soon.

Sincerely,

Jon Cocco

Feedall 1680 with RMG #TG-12×8

Feedall has been tapped by Royal Master Grinder to provide entrance and exit conveyors for it’s Model TG-12×8 Thrufeed Microsize machine at IMTS booth #N6646.

Feedall Model 1680 is a versatile conveyor that comes several styles including entrance, exit and intermediate for thru-feed centerless grinders. This model is ideal for feeding, transferring and removing cylindrical parts in an oriented fashion. The 8mm diameter dual round belts can cover overall conveyor lengths ranging from 36″ to 180″ with speeds of 1 to 45 feet per minute. All 1680s come with a variable frequency drive and have a black oxide finish.

Entrance conveyor can be hand or automatically loaded, providing a continuous flow of parts to the grinder. The exit conveyor will move the parts out of grinder and may either transfer them to another process or accumulate them on an optional tray. Additional options include mounting brackets, floor stands, drip pans, side/top guides and diverters.

The duel belt design has all the benefits of a flat belt conveyor plus more! The multi-belt conveyor allows coolant, lubricants and metal chips to escape back into the machine and not onto the floor. The low profile side rails let this unit fit into the tightest spaces. So whether you are feeding parts into a grinder or lathe the Feedall 1680 is right for you!

Contact Feedall today to learn how a Dual Belt Conveyor can improve your productivity! Call 1-800-942-8101 or submit your RFQ and upload your part PDFs through our website.

Feedall Hopper Feeders
The Industry Standard Since 1946
Hopper
Feedall designs and manufactures a complete line of hopper feeders which offer automatic handling of sliding, rolling or hanging parts. These feeders may be used with a wide variety of processes including grinders, presses, machining equipment and more.

Feedall feeders serve as a link between consecutive machine stations. This link cuts operating costs by eliminating expensive hand labor to manually feed and orient the parts between stations. The reduction in man hours directly corresponds to greater productivity.

The following six features are common to all Feedall’s and provide you with maximum productivity.

1. Proper Part Delivery – Parts are oriented and placed in a chute with the right or left hand take off or two track delivery.

2. Custom Elevators – Cleat height and spacing on elevators are designed to the size of the parts being fed. Chutes, wearstrips, cleats and tooling are hardened for extra long service.

3. Adjustable Elevation – Heights of the elevator tower may be varied to suit the application. Extra high discharge heights are available.

4. Tooling Plate – This feature controls the rate at which the parts fall into the hopper.

5. Speed Control Feed rate is determined by the speed of the elevating conveyor, which has a self contained variable drive.

6. Custom Designed Accessories – Automatic bank controls, air operated devices, diverters, timing controls and other special equipment may be added with new tooling designs.

Contact Feedall today to learn how a Hopper Feeder can streamline your production line! Call 1-800-942-8101 or submit your RFQ and upload your part pdfs through our website.
