Feedall was founded in 1946 by Lewis R. Winslow. At that time, Mr. Winslow was an engineering manager of a Cleveland based machine tool company. After World War II, the US automotive companies began tooling up their plants to produce automobiles again. These companies required high production machine tools. The machines being used during this time were capable of a much higher production rate than was being achieved. The machines were being fed, or loaded, manually. Monotonous bending and lifting was necessary to load these machines. This repetitive movement caused physical fatigue of the operator which resulted in a loss of production. Many of these machines could not be manually fed fast enough to achieve the full production potential of the equipment. Lewis saw a need for machines to "feed" other machines. Automatic machine "feeders" could be designed to utilize the full potential of the production machinery available to US manufacturers.

Lewis R. Winslow's idea soon began to materialize. He decided to start the Feedall Tool Company to design and build his "FEEDALLS". In the beginning, he was a one man company; designing the machinery, having components manufactured in local machine shops and then assembling the units himself. Lewis visited the local automotive plants in Cleveland and then traveled to Detroit to sell his new Feedalls.

Mr. Winslow's small company grew rapidly. Over the years Lewis set up his own shop and put together a sales representative network which first covered Ohio, then Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and the east coast. FEEDALL was on its way to achieving Lewis' goal of being the leader in its field.

Feedall's parts feeders began as simple conveyors, feeder bowls and small elevator hoppers. Many special devices for orienting and the placement of parts were utilized. From the beginning, Feedall set high standards for itself. The company strives to meet the demand for quality dependable parts feeders, excellent service and total customer satisfaction.

During Feedall's growth, our main focus has remained customer satisfaction. As Feedall grew so did our capability to feed larger parts. Feedall entered the forging industry with forge quality, heavy-duty billet feeders. These units were built tough to withstand rough use in hot steel jungles where large hammers and presses dwarfed normal machine tools. Feedall has handled hot rolled steel billets as large as 150 pounds with hopper capacities of 90 cubic feet. Feedall has earned its place in the market by building quality parts feeders. Feedall feeders are sturdy and reliable; there are many twenty and thirty years old units still performing production work in the field.

Lewis R. Winslow worked hard and enjoyed every day of building Feedall. He enjoyed solving the parts feeding problems of his customers. Lewis passed away in 1981, leaving behind a company he built from the ground up. This company was his dream and with his sacrifices and determination he made it what it is today.

His sons Reid T. and Roger W. Winslow took the helm. Both Reid and Roger had worked for Feedall since their early teens, first in the shop building feeders then designing them. By this time FEEDALL had assembled a seasoned team of employees. Many Feedall employees have been with the company for over thirty years. In the nineties, Roger's son Roger, Jr. (JR) joined Feedall. JR is the third generation of the Winslow family to join Feedall, continuing with the vision of his grandfather.

In 1996 Feedall suffered its second greatest loss, Reid T. Winslow passed on at the early age of 49. Reid had contributed so much to Feedall with his outstanding leadership. Reid, like his father Lewis, had a special talent and passion for solving parts feeding problems. Today, Roger and JR run Feedall with a knowledgeable group of employees. Feedall continues forward with more than 400 plus years combined experience in building feeders.

Feedall has continued to grow into the new millenium, introducing new model designs and tackling new parts feeding problems for its ever expanding customer base. Feedall offers more than thirty different types of feeders in order to meet our customers growing needs. Feedall is planning for the future: expanding to a new manufacturing facility, new products and continually improving customer support.
