OUR RECENT PROJECT SOLUTIONS

Check out these customer stories and see how FEEDALL engineered the best solutions.  How might we improve your productivity?

An
automotive supplier
with
a transmission component (Swaged
Tubes) needed to take the tubes
from a swaging machine and feed
them to a centerless grinder, a
process that was originally hand
fed. FEEDALL
enabled the tubes to be accepted
from a swaging machine onto an
air-operated r18030 conveyorotary/transfer device. This device oriented the tubes with alternating end selection so that swaged ends were together. Tubes were then lifted and transferred onto conveyor feeding tubes end-to-end to the workrest of a CINCINNATI Model 340-20 Centerless Grinder. This involved taking a standard design and adding front-end loader to it and resulted in a cost-savings for the customer and reduction in labor. More details…

A grinder rebuilder company with an automotive application requested a conveyor that would be shipped to INDIA to handle Universal Joint Bearing Cups. FEEDALL provided automation to feed bearing cups into a CINCINNATI Model 340-20 Centerless Grinder, then them from the workrest of the grinder. The exit conveyor was equipped with a special air-operated, diverter device (actuated by a post process gauge on the grinder) to transfer out of spec product into a reject container.    More details…

A
manufacturer of process
reciprocating
compressors
for the
chemical and processing
industries was looking to bring
the grinding process of Crosshead
Pins back in-house from a18079 conveyor vendor. They purchased a used CINCINNATI Model 360-20 DE Centerless Grinder and needed to queue parts on front side, feed them through the grinder and collect them on the back side. The FEEDALL solution included a manually loaded, single row magazine with an escapement that lifts one row at a time onto entrance conveyor feeding the grinder workrest and an exit conveyor with a cam-off device and an adjustable accumulation tray.  Entrance conveyor…

RECENT CUSTOMER PROJECTS

Feedall develops customized solutions for customers in a variety of industies and applications.   Check out the following examples of recently shipped products to see what we have been working on:

HopperAn OEM needed a means by which to take bulk loaded (at random) steel spacers and present them one at a time to a robot which places them in a prescribed pattern to stack rolled rings at 2,100 deg. F.  Rings will be re-used after rolled rings cool to ambient temperature.  System is fully automatic with no operator intervention during production runs…Elevating Hopper

 Bar Feeder

A contract manufacturer needed a means by which to que up (manually load) steel tubes and present them one at a time to a Robot loading a process.  Budget constraints limited system to a semi-automatic process…. Magazine Tube Feeder

Where feeding
billets is concerned, whether it be
“warm forming” or “cold forming”, long
bars, short bars or round corned square
bars, or “pucks” or tubes, we can
help.   Take a look at these
case histories:  Random Load

WHAT MAKES A FEEDALL A FEEDALL?

Feedall equipment is described by our customers as “bullet proof” or “wears forever”.   It’s true.  Many times we get calls for service when in fact, the equipment turns out to be another vendor and not a Feedall!   Gaining our reputation for quality is no accident.   It is intentioned and has been sustained for 65 years throughout three generations of family management.

  • Experts:  Feedall has remained steadfast and focused on the business of parts feeding solutions and improving customer productivity since 1946.  We are experts in the non-vibratory feeder business.
  • Engineering & Technology:  We do not sell off the shelf products but are experienced in engineering customized solutions for all types of parts feed problems using the latest technology.
  • Long-Lasting Construction: Feedalls are built with the very best and highest quality materials minimizing the need to replace them with new equipment.
  • Critical Difference:  Every wear component is a change detail — not welded — making it easy to repair. Less downtime, lower costs.
  • Flexible:  Feedalls can be retooled to accomodate new parts or machine feeds.
  • Quality “not just a word”:  Equipment receives rigorous run-off, testing and debugging making sure it is perfect to customer satisfaction prior to shipping.

SAVE MONEY! ON NEW EQUIPMENT.  REPAIR OR RETOOL EXISTING FEEDALL EQUIPMENT
New projects requiring parts Feeders ? Now’s the time to think FEEDALL!   If you do not have any “NEW NEEDS” then its a great time to consider purchasing the necessary spare parts to keep your FEEDALL running at its best!   Avoid purchasing replacement equipment and production downtimes by keeping ALL your FEEDALL’S in tip top shape.  Keep your Feedall equipment running efficiently and up to date for current production requirements with the following services:

Evaluation
If your existing unit is not performing as well as it should, a service call may be required. This will allow our staff to inspect the unit and provide recommendations on spare parts and other maintenance issues. These visits are offered at a discounted rate when parts are purchased as a result of the trip.

Rebuild
Older units can be evaluated and updated with new components. A fresh coat of paint can make your old feeder seem like new.

Retool
New tooling can be designed for existing units. If you have a new part you wish to feed just supply us a sample. Our engineers will evaluate your current equipment and design new tooling to accommodate your request

Replacement Parts
Provide your feeder’s serial number and the parts you require and in most cases we will complete a quote within two business days. If you are unable to identify what replacement parts you need we can provide you with a new maintenance manual for a nominal fee.

FEEDALL INNOVATION AT WORK

Forging Customer with Vibratory Bowl Feeder problems:
  • Shrinking profits and reduction in new business due line down time causing higher direct labor costs.
  • Environmentally unfriendly due to noise.
  • Ergonomic issues due to height and frequency needed to work on
  • Overall high maintenance costs and downtime due to resurfacing and retooling bowls every 3-4 months made them non-competitive.
  • Higher direct labor costs to produce parts due to overtime wages that were now required to meet deliveries.
Feedall’s Solution:
  • Determined that the downtime was caused by dumping the 6000# load onto the bowls directly basically beating them to death.
  • Supplied a metering type hopper BUILT to withstand the dump and take the abuse instead of the feeder.
  • Eliminated violence on feeder and subsequent down time.
  • Feedall feeders are designed w/hardened steel cleats and wear areas to increase life and do not require resurfacing.
  • Customer was supplied a vertical style chain driven BILLET FEEDER which utilizes cleats not vibration to orient parts, thus reducing noise dramatically.
  • Ergonomics was solved because the Model 4800 is floor mounted and designed to elevate parts to desired heights.  Hopper and load area is 3-5 feet above floor.
If you are experiencing similar problems, please call or email Randy Sparks, 1-800-942-8101.Email:  rsparks@feedall.com.
